Teufel Volunteers at Dozer Days
"Dozer Day is like a fair without the large expense. For rides, the kids hop in the driver's seat and actually drive big yellow dozers, dump trucks and other heavy equipment with a professional operator at their side. Not only is it a dream come true for kids (and fun for the whole family) the event is also a fundraiser benefiting local children's charities." Nutter Foundation

SuSu Hunniecutt, our Sustainable Horticulture Consultant, volunteered for the event this year. She explains, "This is a fantastic event to be a part of. Not only do the children get to experience hands on opportuntiies with large equipment, but almost all of the money raised goes directly back to helping children in the community." The estimated attendence was around 15,000 people and the weather was beautiful. She was stationed at the articulating hauler ramp, which carried people in and out of the event. Safety is the number one priority, so tasks included crowd control, helping people on and off the equipment, and directing the equipment into the loading docks.
Thanks to the Nutter Foundation, the American General Contractors Association, and all of the other sponsors and volunteers that help put this together.
