The Teufel Times - Vol 2, Issue 5

A Memo from the Teufel Family

Last month we asked if you would participate in a short survey to let us know how we are doing, and to identify areas for improvement. We sincerely appreciate all of the responses. Feedback (both positive and not so positive) is a valuable tool to guide us moving forward. For those of you who missed the opportunity to participate last month, we have included the survey again,
here.

Our featured project this month (Rain, Rain, Go Away ...) is an exceptional outdoor living space. After experiencing the wettest June on record, I know that my family would make use of a similar structure. See if you agree.

Now that the weather may finally be cooperating, this is the perfect time to take advantage of the biggest plant inventory reduction sale in our 120 year history. More details can be found in the Summer Plant Sale article below.

Out with the Old - In with the New!

Let me start by wishing all of you a very Happy New Year!

I think it is safe to say that 2009 is one year that nobody will miss. There was no need to turn on the television or check the internet since the message was always the same - more bad news.

Teufel Nursery clears bankruptcy, paying off debts By Eric Mortenson, The Oregonian

Fredrick D. Joe/The Oregonian

Teufel Nursery, a 120-year-old Portland business, reorganized under a plan approved in U.S. Bankruptcy Court this week. The company remained in operation during bankruptcy proceedings, and in August installed landscaping at the new Allison Spa & Resort in Newberg.

The first 120 years in business were rosy compared to the past seven months for Teufel Nursery, a Portland-based commercial landscaping firm. The company's sole lender, Textron Financial Corp., announced last spring it was getting out of the loan business and demanded immediate payment of the $5.3 million Teufel owed.
