Sales of custom residential landscape projects throughout the greater Seattle metro region.  Teufel is known for complete landscape installations by professionals, using exception quality plant material.  Design skills required.  However, this position will also secure landscape installation work from outside design professionals.  Routinely work with individual home owners, custom home builders and developers.  Must be able to create accurate construction budgets based on similar past projects.  Clients are secured through a combination of past referral, web site / marketing efforts, and self generated leads.    

Minimum requirement of Associates Degree in Landscape Design with two additional years design / sales experience as well as previous practical landscape experience.  Must have a working knowledge of survey, irrigation, drainage, night lighting, and local plant pallet.  Acceptable graphic skills for presentation drawings (CAD preferred).

Seeking experienced Maintenance Crewleaders for our Oregon and Washington operations. This person will perform onsite as well as offsite supervision of crews and day to day tasks. Ability to manage crews ranging in size from 2-10, communicate effectively with both employees and onsite contacts, operate various types of maintenance equipment and maintenance practices (various mowers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruners, irrigation controllers, water mgmt, pest control, etc.), read and understand zone charts. Previous irrigation experience a plus. Valid driver license is required for this position. English/Spanish language skills are a plus.

This position performs a mix of office related duties, from receptionist to routine clerical assignments as directed by the Office Manager. Duties include the following:

• create and maintain Contract Files
• copy / distribute documents
• maintain correspondence log
• prepare field notebooks
• copies of plans and specifications
• prepare product submittals and log acceptance
• support purchasing / estimating when required
• assist with payroll related issues (time sheets)
• H.R. related tasks (new employee paperwork)
• order / issue company clothing, safety equipment, cell phones, office supplies

This position is responsible for the overall management of one or more residential landscape installation projects. The position oversees the crew, equipment, customer contact, quality control, budget management, production scheduling, problem resolution and any other issues that pertain to the assigned job or crew.

Prior experience in residential landscape installation a must. Knowledge and experience of general landscape practices including irrigation, water features, pavers, lighting, etc. are preferred.

Requirements: 

• Must possess an Oregon Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or ability to acquire one with in 30 days
• Valid Oregon Drivers License
• Operation of spray truck, various hand sprayers, and fertilizer spreaders

Responsibilities: 

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on spraying equipment
• ALL pesticide labels and MSDS sheets must be read and instructions followed.
• Pesticide application and fertilizer application logs must be kept current at all times including PURS documentation
• Keep pesticide/fertilizer storage area clean and neat
• Must maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees
• Project a professional image at all times
• Ability to perform or assists various landscape enhancement tasks
• Communicate effectively with both employees and on site contacts

Past experience with large scale commercial landscape construction projects required.  This position is responsible for coordinating installation of multiple large scale, complex, broad scope landscape contracts at one time (private sector, public and occassional union contracts).  Can involve contract negotiations, input during the bidding process, participate in the submittal process including selection of vendor / sub-contractors,  Pre-construction meeting, primary contact with site owner / developer / general contractor, attending site coordination meetings, establishing site specific safety plans while enforcing a safe work environment, selection of proper equipment to be used and duration needed on site and verifying that proper equipment maintenance is practiced, scheduling man power,  recruiting when necessary and training new hires and providing continuous education opportunities to entire staff for career advancement, sharing job costing information with foremen to guarantee that every job comes in within budget and on time, written documentation for duration of the contract including request for scope clarifications, letter of notice of concern, contract modifications (change orders), site inspections, letter of substantial completion and begin of maintenance to acceptance and warranty period, letter of final completion,  periodic site inspection during one year warranty period, performance of warranty related tasks, project close-out.  Spanish language skills a plus.  Position reports to the Oregon Regional Manager.  Offices at Parkside Business Park in Beaverton.  Crews dispatch from three area locations.  Projects primarily located in greater Portland metro area, but can include remote locations throughout Oregon and SW Washington.  Valid drivers license required and physical ability to carry out job duties.

This position will not be brokering, buying, or bidding on material other than what is currently in the Teufel inventory.
